Plenty to do, and I actually wanted to do most of it. That second part matters.

• Sacred 2 Remaster: Nostalgic without the nostalgia

A complete mess. I had a brilliant time anyway.

I opened it for a quick look. Several evenings are now missing.

• Jagged Alliance 3 review: Mercenaries, mayhem and too much admin
• Gothic 1 Remake: Eurojank is not a feature

Familiar, undemanding and exactly right for a tired brain.

• Far Far West: Just another roguelite shooter with a shiny streamer-bait paint job

Just launched and already struggling to give anyone a reason to stay.

• Nioh 3's first DLC is £17 for even more recycled content
• Bandai Namco with another flopper from a guaranteed IP

There is a good game here, but read the complaints before spending money on it.

• Brigandine: The Legend of Runersia: 50 clicks before you get to a battle
• Sacred 2 Remaster: Nostalgic without the nostalgia

The same game that did something brilliant ten minutes ago is now wasting my fucking time.

• Gothic 1 Remake: Eurojank is not a feature

A full evening disappeared into work that meant bugger all.

• Colony Ship: consequence without curiosity
• Sacred 2 Remaster: Nostalgic without the nostalgia

The game grabs hold before you have finished fiddling with the settings.

It knows exactly what makes it fun and spends the game doing that.

• Jagged Alliance 3 review: Mercenaries, mayhem and too much admin
• Sacred 2 Remaster: Nostalgic without the nostalgia

Easy to settle into, pleasantly undemanding. Sometimes that is exactly what I want.

I could spend ages listing the problems and still recommend playing it.

• Jagged Alliance 3 review: Mercenaries, mayhem and too much admin

Every stopping point arrives with one more bloody thing worth doing.

I kept checking how long I had been playing. It was never as long as it felt.

• Brigandine: The Legend of Runersia: 50 clicks before you get to a battle
• Colony Ship: consequence without curiosity

Played it, looked for the good bits, still came away thinking it was absolute garbage.

• Another decade, another Halo: Combat Evolved
• Bandai Namco with another flopper from a guaranteed IP

Looks fantastic. Unfortunately, looking at it is by far the most interesting part.

• Brigandine: The Legend of Runersia: 50 clicks before you get to a battle
• I finally played the 'AAAA' Game

I know exactly what the game is doing to keep me playing. It is bloody working.

• Ninja Gaiden 4: Competently stylish, yet unfinished and low budget

It spent the opening hours being annoying, then had the nerve to become good.
