My Experience
This was, without a doubt, the worst of the bunch. The "Spicy Korean Chicken with Fried Rice," which is clearly meant to be their take on a gochujang-style dish, is just vile, 1 star from me.
Let's break down the disaster. The entire tray is just a soggy mess. The fried rice and the sauce have merged into one sad, wet pile. And the chicken? It's the same soft, battered stuff they use in their other meals, offering no redeeming texture here either. It just gets lost in the mush.
The flavour is the biggest offense. You get a faint hint of the savoury flavour you'd expect from gochujang, but it's immediately drowned out by an aggressive, borderline offensive wave of salt. It's so unbelievably salty that it numbs your taste buds to anything else. And "spicy"? The box advertises a "hot" three-chilli rating, which is an outright lie. There is no spiciness here worth mentioning. It's all just a disgusting, salty taste. Looking at the nutritional info, the 3.68g of salt makes perfect, horrifying sense.
The only, and I mean only, positive I can scrape together is that they used edamame instead of cheap, filler garden peas. So, congratulations on that, I guess.
To add insult to injury, I had to eat this twice. Another Wasabi product I ordered was out of stock, so the store replaced it with a second one of these. It was just as disgusting the second time around. Avoid this meal.
