My Experience
Let's start with the star of the show, the chicken. I have to give credit where it's due. For a microwave meal, the chicken was surprisingly good. It had a nice, flavourful breadcrumb coating that managed to stay respectably crispy, which is no small feat after being heated. The chicken itself had a good bite to it, wasn't tough or dry. The not-short-grain-rice was ok aswell.
Now, for the part that brought the whole dish down: the sauce. Looking at the photo on the box, you expect a thick, rich curry. What I got was a runny, disappointing oil puddle. The flavour was just a big hit of salt with a faint echo of a generic S&B curry block. There was no depth, no warmth, no complexity. To make matters worse, the chunks of carrot and potato in the sauce were weirdly sweet and felt completely out of place, creating a really jarring taste.
On the upside, this is a seriously filling meal. The 450g portion contains around 668 calories, so it will definitely stop you from being hungry. It packs in over 20 grams of protein, but the salt content is incredibly high at 3.62g, which is more than half of your recommended daily intake. Yeah, that's an insane amount of salt in that awful sauce.
