From my original Amazon review:

This is a profound misrepresentation of kimchi. It appears to be the result of a non-specialist Chinese company manufacturing a product as cheaply and quickly as possible, all while tailoring it to a generic UK palate that expects sweetness. What you get is a jar of disgustingly sweet, soggy cabbage floating in a generic "hot powder" water.

There is zero authenticity here. The vegetables are soft and mushy with absolutely no crunch. The flavour is dominated by an unpleasant sweetness, which is explained by looking at the ingredients: they use both sugar and maize SYRUP. Instead of an authentic umami base like fish sauce, a primary ingredient is simply... water. To top it off, they use a generic 'hot red chilli powder' instead of the flavourful gochugaru that is essential to real kimchi.

This is a one-star product through and through. I would strongly recommend against this, especially if you have never tried kimchi before, as it will give you a completely false impression. If you're looking for an accessible supermarket option to start with, something like Vadasz is a much better choice.
