My Experience

This was a bit disappointing, considering I usually love yuzu stuff.

It has the same great mochi texture as their others, and the white bean paste (shiro-an) is certainly smooth and refreshing. However, I wasn't really a fan of that completely smooth paste. It melts very easily in the mouth, meaning the sweetness hits you much quicker since there is no contrasting texture to complement the chewy rice layer.

There are real yuzu peels mixed in, and they taste distinctively different, giving a unique, slightly bitter, concentrated citrus hit when you bite into them. Ultimately though, I just wasn't a fan of the overall combination when comparing it to the mame or kurogoma flavours.

This is actually one of those times where the generous filling is a negative for me. I would have much preferred more mochi to balance it all out! 3 stars.
