M&S Chilli Chicken Ramen

My Experience

Next, we have the Japanese-inspired ramen. Right away, this was a disappointing meal. I wasn't expecting authentic quality, but it was just lacking as a meal overall.

Nutritionally, it's a strange one. For a 400g portion, you only get 308 calories, which feels quite insubstantial. This is paired with a high 38g of protein and a whopping 2.82g of salt, which is almost half of your entire daily limit in one go.

As usual, the chicken was excellent, and the broth had that rich taste of a proper, high-quality chicken stock. The sliced chili carried through well without being overpowering.

Unfortunately, that's where the praise stops. Despite the high salt content, the flavour was surprisingly muddled and lacked any prominent character. The main issue was the balance of ingredients. It is rare to complain about too much meat, but the generous portion of chicken completely overwhelmed the tiny amount of noodles and vegetables. The choice of veg was good, there just wasn't nearly enough of it. 2 stars.
