My Experience

Of the various katsu curry ready meals I've tried, this is probably the most positive one overall. I wouldn't call it good, but it's a solid meal thanks to the quality of the ingredients.

The sauce itself was neither here nor there; it had a general curry flavour but wasn't particularly memorable. As usual for M&S, the chicken itself was high quality. I didn't care for the gimmicky cauliflower rice, but the vegetables tasted quite fresh and flavourful. The carrots, for example, were firm and had a distinct taste, rather than being the low-quality, overly sweet and crunchy kind.

Nutritionally, it's a mixed bag. On the plus side, you get two of your five a day, a huge 42g of protein, high fibre, and only 10g of carbohydrates. The main issues are the saturated fat and salt levels. The salt isn't too bad, but the fat was definitely a high amount due to the coconut in the sauce.

Overall, it's a decent, if flawed, low-carb option.
